How long have you been in business?
The academy has been in business for over 12 years. The Johnsons have owned and operated the academy under the name Johnson's TaeKwonDo Academy since May of 2006.
What is your primary product or service?
Johnson's TaeKwonDo Academy offers Ho-Am TaeKwonDo training for children and adults from ages 4 to Adult.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I, Bryson Johnson started training at the age of 10 (for my 10th birthday present in fact) and have been in love with Martial Arts training ever since. I met my wife Melissa at the age of 12 at my father's TaeKwonDo Academy and actually assisted with her first class. Melissa was interested in boxing programs the day that she stopped by my dad's school, but the boxing club was closed. Lucky for me! We are now married for 7 years in May 09 and have a 1 year old child together. Having our TaeKwonDo Academy together is fate for sure.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We strive to teach our students skills beyond that of just punching and kicking. Through building our Habitat For Humanity House, raising money for local charities, and instilling solid character values in every lesson, we are able to provide the complete package of a genuine martial arts experience. Johnson's is a school that is owned and operated by a husband and wife team that teach the majority of the classes in their school. This is unique. This is why Johnson's has quickly become the choice for families looking for more from a Martial Arts Program.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one school at 2456 SW Cary Parkway and one club across town. We are moving our Cary Parkway location accross the street in Spring 2009 to a new location that will be 2/3 larger with 2 training floors for our expanding Yoga and Jiu-Jitsu Programs and lots and lots of viewing Area for visitors.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
My wife and I. We do have 20 instructional team members that help out. However, our philosophy on instruction is that if you are not the main instructor(s) at your academy, your students become your instructor's students. We are not interested in giving the reins over to our instructors. We have always been hands-on and will continue to be hands-on in the running of our academy. That is how we are able to retain the highest level of quality in our area.
