Jo Kwon Chi (our style) blends Japanese, Chinese, Turkish, styles, at half the price!
Red Sun Academy's style is JO KWON CHI, which is a blend of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Turkish styles. What makes Red Sun unique is three things:
One, we incorporate not only the hard style (Shotokan, karate), but also the soft (Tai Chi), where students use technique and leverage instead of using only their strength. Students learn to rely on an inner strength with knowledge of proper body mechanics, and they learn to utilize their core instead of muscling it.
Two, our price is about half of what some of the commercial schools charge, and we don't require contracts.
Three, the instructors go well out of their way to share their knowledge, often giving their own personal time freely to individual students.
Red Sun Academy offers many extras other than martial art training, where students and instructors attend fun outside events such as dinners, picnics, movies, hikes, parties, day trips to the lake, and weekend retreats.
Jo Kwon Chi is the best martial art style in the world. Well... we suppose we should add --in our humble opinion. In our style, instead of blocking a force going north at you, and your stopping it by going south, you divert them as their force continues going north. Just make sure your face/body isn't in their path! This could have worded that with less words, but --going with the flow-- is so cliche. Also, students learn to be aware of their surroundings, de-escalate a threatening situation, and last resort - to ground, neutralize, and use leverage and technique.

I trained at Red Sun since I was a pre-teen, but had to quit when I moved away to college. I learned a lot! The instruction is unique and good. When I was in middle school, I had to use what I learned against two bullies, and it works, but now, I learned how not to fight, among a lot of other things. The instructors were very helpful.
